OUR STORY

Vortex Strings is a string quartet founded in 2016 by the cellist Ana Gjud. Along with Ana, the base members of the quartet include two violin players: Ana Dražinić and Vlasta Crnogorac, as well as Ana Marija Šir on viola.

We are young artists with education in classical music, who explore new and modern sounds on string instruments.

Our mission is to unite fashion, sophistication, intellect and power in music performances.

The repertoire we play is versatile: from classical hits and waltzes through seductive tango, jazz and evergreen to energising pop, rock music arrangements.

In a short period of time, we have become one of the most wanted performance acts in this part of Europe and beyond.

In addition to concert activities, we also perform at movie festivals, expos, private parties and business gatherings.

One of our most important performances was at the Exit Festival in Novi Sad (Serbia) where we performed with Sergei Polunin, one of the most famous ballet dancers of our time and the youngest champion in the history of the British Royal Ballet. Together we performed the song ”Freedom’’, which was the motto of the festival in 2018.

We have also collaborated with extraordinary regional artists such as Gabi Novak, Tereza Kesovija, Jinx, The Frajle and Toni Cetinski, with whom we performed on his Acoustic/Electric tour.

We offer a wide range of ensembles, from solo violoncello to chamber orchestra, as well as the possibility to select the ensemble according to your needs and wishes.
